ArchiFest 2010: Happy Cities - Architecture in Singapore: ArchiFest 2010 - Resource Guides at National Library, Singapore

Introduction

2010 marks the fourth consecutive year for the Singapore Institute of Architects-organised ArchiFest in Singapore. Begun as an event to promote and celebrate the built environment, the festival has become an annual event where professionals and students from both Singapore and other countries can gather in the Lion City to share experiences and debate the merits of good design and architectural legacy.

Themed 'Happy Cities', this year's ArchiFest kicked off on 4 October 2010, and ended on 3 November 2010. As with past years' month-long ArchiFest, this year's event offered a wide array of exhibitions, forums, tours and fringe events. The ArchiFest 2010 Forum took place on 21-22 October 2010, featuring a lineup of 11 international speakers.

In following the annual forum, this resource guide has been created to compile relevant sources on the respective forum speakers for 2010. In introducing the speakers and documenting their architectural and publication output, this guide aims to encourage architectural research among students, professionals and enthusiasts. Although the resources listed in this guide may not be exhaustive of what is available in the NLB Libraries and in the WWW, it is hoped that the references provided may still serve as a good starting point for anyone looking to learn more about the speakers and their body of works.
