Introduction
This select listing of publications captures the National Library’s history as a national institution spanning almost two centuries. The library’s history is shared with notable institutions which have devolved out of it such as the Singapore Institution, the National Museum and the National Archives. Along with the evolution of the institution, the library’s role and its collections have also grown. The listing in this bibliography thus serves to capture information on the evolution of the institution as a national icon. Its aim is to inform the researcher of useful materials on the history and development of the library available in the National Library collections. It is hoped through this that further research on the development of public libraries in Singapore, and of the National Library in particular, can be undertaken.
For titles available at LKCRL or NLB libraries, you can search them on our catalogue. The catalogue is available at all libraries and on the National Library Singapore website (http://www.nl.sg).
