Introduction

This online resource guide compiles resources that can be found in the National Library of Singapore's collections and elsewhere on the World Wide Web that are written by Makoto Tanijiri or document his body of works.  In the interest of encouraging research, it is hoped that this guide may serve as a useful tool to all architectural enthusiasts, students and researchers on the topic.

Makoto Tanijiri (谷尻 誠, b. 1974, Hiroshima, Japan - ) graduated in 1994 from the Anabuki Design College in Hiroshima, Japan.  He first worked at Motokane Architects between 1994-1999, before moving on to HAL Architects in Tokyo in 1999-2000.

In 2000, Makoto Tanijiri returned to his hometown and founded Suppose Design Office.  He went on to forge a highly prolific career, with over 160 projects spanning a wide range of areas, e.g. residences, business spaces, art installations, landscapes.  Tanijiri was awarded the JCD Rookie Award in 2003, and is known for his delightfully adventurous designs that bring fresh perspectives to his works.

He is also currently a part time professor at his alma mater.
