Introduction

Neila Sathyalingam (b. 1938, Colombo, Sri Lanka - ), dancer, instructor and choreographer of Indian classical dance, is an eminent figure in the Indian classical dance arena in Singapore. She is the founder and artistic director of Apsaras Arts dance company and has been the principal dance teacher and choreographer with People's Association Indian Dance group for more than twenty years. She was awarded the prestigious Cultural Medallion (Dance) in 1989.
